Margery A. Pinet

Margery A. PinetMargery A. Pinet, professor emerita, of Liverpool, N.Y., joined the board in 2008.

Pinet came to Cazenovia in 1979 as an adjunct writing instructor and Academic Learning Center’s tutor. Over the past three decades, she has served the College as an assistant academic dean, executive vice president and highly respected member of the faculty.

Pinet established the Washburn Lectures, a series of talks about current issues confronting society.  She also endowed the Washburn Junior Fellowship, a year-long opportunity for students to expand their academic and research opportunities. 

She was honored with the Presidential Medallion in 2000, and in 2006 the board of trustees unanimously granted her the highly esteemed status of professor emerita.  Pinet retired from her full-time position in August 2006, but has continued to teach at the College. In October 2010, Pinet was inducted into the Cazenovia College Athletics Hall of Fame.
