Project REACH (Recognizing Excellence, Achievement, Commitment, and Honor), a Student Support Services Program, receives 100 percent of its budget from the federal TRIO grant program authorized under Title IV of the Higher Education Act of 1965 and awarded to educational institutions by the U.S. Department of Education. The 2012-2013 budget is $294,495.
The Program, which has been at Cazenovia since 1986, provides eligible students with specialized academic assistance, academic advisement, career development services, and advocacy. Peer mentors assist new participants with the college transition. They are role models who provide academic, social, and emotional support.
The program also offers students opportunities to participate in free cultural and other special events, such as trips to plays, museums, conferences, lectures and symposiums. Our goals include: maintaining students’ good academic standing, enhancing retention and graduation rates, and fostering a supportive climate for all students.
