Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Ian McLagan, of the legendary Faces (and Small Faces), and Joey Molland, of Badfinger, will be appearing together live in concert on Saturday, June 22, 8 p.m., at the Catherine Cummings Theatre in Cazenovia. Fans are encouraged to bring canned and non-perishable foods for collection by Caz Cares, an area food bank.
McLagan is on tour with Central New York native Jon Notarthomas and Molland is touring with Paul Davie, another Central New Yorker. The evening will touch on a wide range of rock and roll history with songs and stories about the Beatles, Rolling Stones and much more. The Catherine Cummings Theatre at Cazenovia College is located at 16 Lincklaen Street in Cazenovia, N.Y. General admission is $23.
McLagan’s Wurlizer electric piano can be heard on the Faces’ "Stay With Me," and the Stones’ hit "Miss You." His Hammond B-3 is featured on the Small Faces’ "Ichycoo Park," and Rod Stewart’s "Maggie May" and &q uot;You Wear it Well." He has also recorded with Bruce Springsteen, Bonnie Raitt, Bob Dylan, Taj Mahal and many others.
Molland was a member of the popular Badfinger, with monster hits in the ‘70s including "Day After Day," (which has been featured on the Simpsons), "Come and Get It" (written with Paul McCartney), "No Matter What" and "Baby Blue." The band is also responsible for the GRAMMY winning "Without You," made famous by Harry Nillson and later covered by Mariah Carey. Molland had key roles in a few George Harrison solo projects, including the album "All Things Must Pass" and "The Concert for Bangladesh."
