“In a higher world it is otherwise, but here below to live is to change, and to be perfect is to have changed often.”
Cardinal John Henry Newman 1801-1890
The Newman Club (Association) is present on the Cazenovia College Campus to provide Christian support to students.
The Newman Club is an ecumenical group that helps foster the spiritual, intellectual and social interests of the students of Cazenovia College. The Club believes that God is present in each one of us and that we deepen our relationship with God and one another when we come together to pray and when we are of service and support to each other.
The Newman Club is named for Cardinal John Newman, who as a minister of the Church, dedicated himself to helping others receive a quality education while providing spiritual guidance to those under his direction. He died August 11, 1890, but left behind the beginning of the organizations that are dedicated to helping collegians identify with Christ and the Church as they proceed with their education. Thus, Catholic Campus Ministries, nationally, are often called Newman Clubs.
The Newman Club is provided by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Syracuse and the generosity of parents through fund raisers.
Newman Club membership is open to all Cazenovia College students and is recognized through the Student Government Association.
