James D. Freyer, Jr.

James D. Freyer, Jr. CIC, of Syracuse, N.Y., joined Cazenovia College’s Board of Trustees in September 2015.
 
Freyer, CEO at Haylor, Freyer & Coon, Inc., has served the company and the insurance industry for over 30 years. He oversees the overall operation of the Agency and also holds a position as a representative for their international partnership with Assurex Global. As CEO, he drives the vision and mission of the Agency and works alongside 200 employee owners (ESOP) in six offices.
 
Freyer began to make his mark in the insurance industry upon graduation from SUNY Geneseo. In 1996 he became a certified insurance counselor and holds a broker license in all 50 States. Freyer has also been a member of the Hanover Insurance Company National Agents Council, president of the New York Housing Association and New York delegate to the Manufactured Housing Institute in Washington, D.C.
 
Prior to his role as CEO, Freyer held a position as executive vice president and director of the Manufactured Housing Division. Freyer continues as CEO of MHD Empire Service Corp., a licensed mortgage broker specializing in the manufactured housing industry.
 
Committed to our community, Freyer is a board member of the United Way, Success by 6 and is actively involved with Young Life, a faith-based youth program.  When he's not in the office, he can be found on the golf course, boating in the Thousand Islands or skiing. Spending quality time with his wife and three daughters is another key to his success.
