REACH is a leading federal TRIO Student Support Services (SSS) grant program that promotes academic achievement and scholarly development of first generation college students, income-eligible students, and students with disabilities.

Our mission is to help students overcome adversity by providing accountability, academic coaching, empowering life experiences, and a safe space to realize their fullest potential.

Getting Started

History of REACH

REACH (Recognizing Excellence, Achievement, Commitment, and Honor), a TRIO Student Support Services Program, receives 100 percent of its budget from the federal TRIO grant program authorized under Title IV of the Higher Education Act of 1965 and awarded to educational institutions by the U.S. Department of Education.

The program, which has been at Cazenovia College since 1986, provides eligible students with specialized academic assistance, academic advisement, financial literacy counseling, and advocacy. Peer mentors assist new participants with the college transition. They are role models who provide academic, social, and emotional support.
