Cazenovia College students and faculty will present "Science Is Fun!" with hands-on activities for children ages 5 to 12 on Thursday, Oct. 22, 6 to 8 p.m. Chemical demonstrations will be shown at 6 p.m. in room 204 in Eckel Hall.

The theme of this year's event is Color Your World! Don't miss the opportunity to learn about chemistry and art!

The event will take place in rooms 204, 208, 305, and 306 in Eckel Hall on Lincklaen Street on the Cazenovia College campus.

This free program is designed to introduce young people to the wonders of science in ways they can easily understand. Below are some of the activities:
  • Color a paper rainbow trout using household chemicals
  • Why is the sky blue and the sunset red?
  • Identification of local fish
  • What is color made of?
  • Making stained glass glue
  • Spinach chromatography
  • Paint a fresco
  • Identification of different species of plants and trees
  • Make your own sculpture dough
  • Make a colorful flower from a coffee filter
  • Milk of magnesia kaleidoscope
  • And more…
Parents can learn how to tie-die a t-shirt. The WonderWorks’ Professor Wonder will be giving out coupons for admission to the Destiny USA establishment that features over 100 fascinating hands-on science exhibits.

Free parking is available at the Seminary Street parking lot, on Lincklaen Street, and at the Schneeweiss Athletic Complex parking lot on Liberty Street.
