We are always interested in your feedback about our services, our policies, our web page, or other issues affecting the Counseling Center.
We discourage the use of e-mail to contact the Counseling Center regarding personal problems. There is a chance that your e-mail may not be opened right away, or may be overlooked or lost, and because of the nature of e-mail, we cannot guarantee the confidentiality of your correspondence. Counseling sessions are never conducted via e-mail.
We do encourage, however, you contacting us in whatever way you are comfortable if the alternative is not to contact us at all.
Cancelations and No-shows: Personal commitment to counseling is crucial for success. We encourage you to keep all appointments scheduled with your counselor. If you must miss a session due to illness or an emergency, please call the Counseling Center at 315-655-7207 to cancel the appointment as far in advance as possible.
If you "no-show" for a session without calling in advance, you must call the Counseling Center to reschedule within 48 hours or you may be placed on a waiting list for further services.
If you are a student of the College, you can make an appointment to discuss your needs with a counselor. To make an appointment you can call the Counseling Center at 315-655-7207, email the counselor at email@example.com (for non-emergency appointment only), or stop by the Center in person. You and your counselor will together decide how to proceed. You may begin a course of individual or group counseling or you may feel that your needs were met in the first session. Referrals can also be made to other mental health providers in the community.
Bettermynd is an additional counseling resource we are now able to access for our students starting August 2021. We are partnering with Bettermynd, an online counseling service, that can be accessed through the Cazenovia College Counseling Center. Students can be referred to Bettermynd by completing an intake appointment at the Cazenovia College Counseling Center and meeting the identified criteria for a referral. Bettermynd will provide specialists and diversity for our students in an online counseling setting.
Bettermynd will allow students to explore different counselors that fit their needs. Referred students will be allotted several sessions to work on specific mental health related issues. At the end of the allotted number of sessions students will be referred to the Cazenovia College Counseling Center if continued support is needed. Students may also access Bettermynd on their own, without a referral from the counseling center and choose the option of self-pay.
