What You Need to Know About Influenza

The Madison County Department of Health issues a weekly report about contagious illnesses in our area.

Flu shots are offered on campus in the fall.

General Influenza Information

Cazenovia College has been participating in ongoing efforts to monitor the incidence and spread of seasonal influenza. Those efforts include attending community meetings, updating our emergency response plan, increasing communication with campus constituents, and distributing health promotion materials. Additionally, the Health Office is a participant in the U. S. Influenza Surveillance program.

We do not anticipate a situation where classes, travel, or events might be restricted due to a flu outbreak on campus; however, if circumstances change, we will post information on this web page and keep you informed via campus email. You may also get information at http://www.cdc.gov or www.health.ny.gov

If you or someone you know has symptoms of the flu, which may include fever, chills, body aches, sore throat, and cough, please contact the Health Office at 315-655-7122 for instructions. With good hygiene practices and an effective immunization program, health officials believe we can limit the spread of flu in our community.  Thank you for your help in keeping our campus healthy!
