The College learned late today that a residential student has tested positive for COVID-19. We want to reassure the campus community that the College continues to take every step possible to ensure the health and safety of our students and employees.
The individual tested positive at an off-campus healthcare facility, has not returned to campus and will be isolating and recovering at home. The College and the individual are communicating with the Madison County Department of Health, and anyone who is determined to have had sufficient contact to warrant a risk of exposure will receive further instruction from Madison County’s contact tracing team.
At this time, there are no changes to classes. Dining Services will switch to take out service only beginning tomorrow at breakfast in Hubbard Dining Hall. Additional updates will be provided as County Health Department information is made available. Everyone in our community is asked to continue following all health and safety protocols including use of masks, practice of physical distancing, and cleaning all surfaces with appropriate cleansers.
As always, we want to remind our community that if you have symptoms of COVID-19, you should contact our Health Center or your healthcare provider immediately. The Health Center can be reached at (315) 655-7122 or after hours through Campus Safety at (315) 655-7555.
