Funded through the generosity of the Gordon and Barbara Wheler family, the 15th annual Wheler Family Conference on World Affairs, titled "On Politics," featured seven thought-provoking lectures, and each was met with enthusiastic dialogue between the speaker and audience.

Particularly noteworthy this year were mother/daughter teams of speaker and moderator. They included Karen Friedman Agnifilo, Manhattan's chief assistant district attorney, who spoke on "Law and Politics," and panel moderator Sofia Agnifilo '19 as well as Laura Crolick Kibby '84, FEP accreditation consultant, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas, who gave a presentation titled, "The Politics of Obamacare," and panel moderator Rachel Kibby '17.

In addition, two alumnae gave presentations including Heather Towne Bernet '95, tobacco prevention team manager, BRIDGES, whose talk was titled, "You Can Influence Decision Makers," and Olivia Summer Roig '14, a graduate student at Bowling Green State University, who spoke on "9/11 Protest Music and the Conservative Right." Ms. Roig is the daughter of longtime faculty member, Professor Bruce Roig.
