Cazenovia College has announced an adjusted schedule for its Spring 2021 semester academic calendar that eliminates spring break and moves up the end of the semester.
The Spring 2021 semester will begin as currently scheduled on Tuesday, January 19, 2021, however the last day of classes will now be a week earlier, on Tuesday, April 27, 2021. Final examinations will be conducted April 29 – May 4, 2021. With the earlier end to the semester, the date for Commencement is being reviewed and an update will be provided once confirmed.
“Like many other colleges, we have eliminated spring break to minimize COVID-19 risks related to travel and to avoid potential testing and quarantine complications upon students and staff returning to campus. The condensed semester timeframe still allows students to complete a full semester of instruction and permits the College to fulfill academic requirements,” said College President Ron Chesbrough.
President Chesbrough applauded the efforts of students, faculty and staff for adhering to and maintaining safety protocols during the residential, in-person instruction fall semester, which dates back to mid-August.
“The dedicated efforts of everyone on campus to observe physical distancing, mask-wearing, and sanitizing steps in an ongoing and diligent manner has been instrumental to the College’s nearly zero incidence of the COVID-19 virus on campus to date,” he said. “It is certainly all due to everyone in our campus community maintaining recommended safety protocols, and I thank everyone sincerely for their efforts,” Chesbrough added.
